About Building Strong Families
In January 2020, Building Strong Families (BSF) began in Chiangmai, Thailand. BSF was established in response to a large number of children across Asia who find themselves separated from loving families due to poverty. BSF currently serves families in both Thailand and Nepal.
An estimated 8 million children are living in orphanages and residential care around the world.
About 80% of these children have living parents!
Building Strong Families (BSF) aims to prevent the relinquishment of children to orphanages in Asia by loving and often well-meaning parents who are facing poverty or financial hardship.
We aim to restore dignity where dignity has been lost.
Through strategic partnerships, BSF provides holistic development opportunities to build strong sustainable families. This empowerment helps to keep vulnerable children in a loving and nurturing family where they can thrive in their own community.
Holistic development opportunities include: income generation assistance & livelihood support, parent/caregiver training, health and nutrition support, education assistance, family fun day outings, counselling, home visitations, building awareness of existing support services, and ongoing monitoring and follow-up.
Building Strong Families partners with families of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds. We are built on Christian values and a belief that the family is God's design. We believe that every child has intrinsic value and a right to be loved and protected.

Building Strong Families is a partner for Project J1079 (Thailand) and Project J1102 (Nepal) with Global Development Group (ABN 57 102 400 993), an Australian NGO approved by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
On 9th October 2023, Building Strong Families was registered as a foundation in Thailand with the registration number (ชม770) by the Ministry of Interior under the name, Building Strong Families Foundation, or มูลนิธิสร้างครอบครัวเข้มแข็ง.

Our Purpose
