Building Strong Families is excited to have held two special Opening Days to welcome 16 families from Nepal to two new BSF projects in Dhapakhel and Jharuwarashi (8 families in each)!
Building Strong Families began in January 2020 with just one project and 8 families in Sunakothi, Nepal. Now, after all the amazing support over the last year, BSF has been enabled to support 56 families in total: 32 families in Nepal in Sunakothi, Chhampi, Dhapakhel and Jharuwarashi, and another 24 families in Chiangmai, Thailand.
Recently, BSF held two Opening Days in Nepal for new beneficiaries from Dhapakhel and Jharuwarashi. The families were introduced to the project and were made clear on their responsibilities over the next 18months to commit to building strong, loving and sustainable families.
One of the new BSF Dhapakhel beneficiaries, Chandra Shrestha, said, “After this Opening Day, I came to understand so many things. I can see that all the training and activities will surely bring transformation to me and my family. I am really excited to know more and attend the different trainings and fun activities in the upcoming days!”
All 16 heads of the family read and signed their family pledges, promising to commit to work together to build strong families for their children. The Ward Chairman from each community also signed the certificates and presented them to each family.
Both of the Ward Chairman's were very positive about the BSF project and its objectives. One commented how the project would really help to keep children in their own family where they can grow and develop, rather than seeing them relinquished to institutions, and that this would in-turn help to build a stronger community.
After the formalities, a yummy lunch was served and all the families had a chance to have some fun and get to know each other. They are all looking forward to fully participating in the program over next 18-months to see positive transformation in their families and children.
